Ngarambe to represent Rwanda at Miss Face of Humanity
Twenty-three-year-old Rita Laurence Ngarambe is set to represent Rwanda at Miss Face of Humanity 2020 slated from September 26 to October 10 in Toronto, Canada, if all goes according to plan.
The competition is a project of The Face of Humanity, a global platform for young female trailblazers and ambassadors who are using their passion, skills and voices to create change and combat social injustices globally and is built on a promise to change the world.

“Our Past” commemoration event takes place in Canada
This year’s “Our past” commemoration event took place in Canada, in line with the 26th Commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi.
The event, which was in its second edition, brought together Rwandan youth in Canada, with the Minister for Youth, Rosemary Mbabazi, the guest speaker, reminding those who followed the event how the Tutsi were victims of maltreatment and discrimination even before the Genocide.

Anti-racism protesters march down York Boulevard, rally at Hamilton City Hall
Hundreds of peaceful protesters closed a stretch of York Boulevard as they marched to Hamilton City Hall Saturday afternoon calling out racism and injustice.
Chants of “Black lives matter” and “no justice, no peace, no racist police,” rang out in the crowd, many who carried signs calling to defund the police.
The march began at Dundurn Castle, where organizers handed out water, snacks, signs and masks for anyone who didn’t have their own. As the crowd walked, passing supporters held signs and honked horns. Hamilton police, standing back, blocked traffic.

United for Humanity for Bahamas Hurricane Relief
Rita Ngarambe, Miss Emancipation 2019, hosted a fundraiser for Bahamas hurricane relief on September 27. Held at Unison Health & Community Services, United for Humanity featured an evening of entertainment, music, and poetry with refreshments. After the terrible destruction of Hurricane Dorian, Rita wanted to do something to help. Rita has a personal connection to the Bahamas – a group of her friends have been going back and forth to help with hurricane relief. Donations were accepted, and funds were also raised from t-shirt sales. It was a great way to bring the community together to make a difference in the world!

The subject became a matter of concern when Rwandans in Canada gathered in Toronto to pay their tributes to over one million people who were killed during 100 days of Genocide Against Tutsi in 1994.
During the session of April, 20, Rwandan Special Advisor in Military Affairs to the United States of America and Canada, Brig. Gen Vincent Nyakarundi, demanded current Rwandan youth to replicate RPF’s heroism, which stopped Genocide, through enhancing patriotic values and defending development achieved by the country.
